Pew Research Report: The Fate of the Semantic Web

For all that’s been discussed about the Semantic Web, not a whole lot has come to fruition… yet.  Pew recently released the results of a research project comparing the promise of the Semantic Web with what thought leaders think about when it will be fulfilled.

The verdict?  Decidedly mixed.  47% thought that the Semantic Web would be impactful only after the 2020 goal date, 41% thought it would happen before the 2020 goal date.

So the jury’s still out.  For those with the time, there are some interesting quotes and tidbits as you read through the results.
