Aardvark acquired by Google

February 12, 2010

For those of you who are familiar with Aardvark, a different kind of search engine (social search engine, where people ask other networked people questions – all free), you might be interested to hear that Aardvark has been acquired by Google.  It’ll be interesting to see how Google uses the Aardvark data stores and incorporates that into the larger search – potentially following the Chacha model of using that as a data mining / search opportunity.

On a related note, Aardvark also had a research paper accepted at WWW2010 which might be of interest as well, especially if you haven’t heard of Aardvark:  http://blog.vark.com/?p=352
