One more reason to use Bing (maybe)se

July 29, 2009

Here’s one more reason to use Bing (aside from Health searches, for which Bing outperforms Google):

One of the newer features of Bing is the Reference vertical – specifically, they’re looking to make it easier to answer those “reference search sessions” – typically the most time and query intensive (sound librarianish?).  Microsoft estimates that these sessions typically take more than 9 minutes and more than 6 queries to get the right answer.

The answer?  Take Wikipedia and semantically enhance the information to provide a more full view.  Not a bad idea!

Unsurprisingly, they call it “Bing Reference”.  Take a read through the features here…
