Google Custom Search Engine: Advanced Configuration
2009 July 1
Up on the Google Custom Search Blog is a set of newly released resources for deeper configuration of Google Custom Search Engine - enabling more finite control and allowing you to designate different weighting, biasing by date, and creating your own back-end thesaurus.
Here’s the link: http://googlecustomsearch.blogspot.com/2009/06/advanced-custom-search-configuration.html
There is both a YouTube presentation and the slide handouts – both of which are great resources.
Initially, the CSE was simply a list of websites you wanted crawled. Now you can really “make it your own”. Fantastic stuff if used appropriately.
(Note: May require XML and API know-how)
